Businesses, Restaurants and Kids Fair Attract Visitors of all ages to the 123rd National Horse Show and Family Festival

Wellington, FL ? December 3, 2006 ? With the running of the 123rd National Horse Show and Family Festival coming to a close at the Palm Beach Polo Equestrian Club in Wellington, FL, there is no doubt in anyone's mind as to the caliber of equestrian competition that the show has played host to during the past week. Bringing prestigious events such as the Rolex/USEF National Show Jumping Championship to viewers of all ages, visiting the show has become a favorite pastime for Wellington families and surrounding areas. This year, as always, there was no shortage of entertainment, as Saturday's guests of the show have no doubt discovered.

Starting in 2004, Gene Mische, president and founder of Stadium Jumping Inc., and president of the National Horse Show, decided that the increased number of activities for spectators of all ages would be projected to the public with the addition of the words ‘Family Festival’ to the event's name. The event has lived up to its name by providing an exciting time for everyone in the family. Saturday's headline entertainment events included a children's fair, the ‘Taste of Wellington’ and the Wellington Business Expo.

Children's Fair Celebration – themed “Big Blow Out” Beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday, kids were able to leap aboard the massive 'Sabre Tooth' and 'Wild One' slides erected in the lower arenas of the show grounds, with additional features including a petting zoo, face painting, rock climbing wall and pony rides. Sponsored by Mr. Y.G. Walker III and Friends of Children, the fair is sure to provide lasting memories for everyone attending, even those too young to appreciate the world class equestrian talent.

Wellington Businesses Set Up Shop With “Business Meets Equestrian Expo” For the first time in the event's history, spectators were able to enjoy business of all types and sizes that had set up shop under the shade of massive tents on the show grounds of the Palm Beach Polo Equestrian Club. Also starting at 10 a.m. Saturday, the expo proved to be a unique opportunity for businesses to exhibit their products and services to the crowds the show attracted. When dealing with a town such as Wellington, it is inevitable that the majority of businesses that the expo brought in have ties to the equestrian community. This is precisely why Michela Perillo-Greem, executive director of the Chamber of Commerce decided to look into a venue for their business expo at the horse show. “This had to be the closest to a perfect event that we've had,” she explained. “It exceeded every expectation.” Perillo-Greem was highly complimentary of the assistance that Stadium Jumping Inc. provided throughout the process, saying that “they were fantastic to deal with.” When asked about the future of the expo, Perillo-Greem didn't hesitate for a second: “If I could, we would book it tomorrow!”

A Taste of Wellington – Local Restaurants Cook Up a Sweet Addition to This Year's Show Further expanding the list of events at this year's 123rd annual National Horse Show and Family Festival, 10 local restaurants set up shop under the Special Events Tent from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on December 2, offering a wide variety of food samples for spectators and visitors. The event featured restaurants both large and small, from locally based businesses such as Aaron's Catering, to international corporations the likes of California Pizza Kitchen and Cold Stone Creamery. Other restaurants included CR Chicks, Good To Go, Romano's Macaroni Grille, Sandy James Catering, Sevilla, Shingo's and Yucatan Mexican Grille.
