ENTRY SUBMISSION

 

Entries close Wednesday, September 6, 2017. Entries must be postmarked before midnight September 6, 2017. All checks must be in US funds and made payable to The National Horse Show.

 

ENTRIES SUBMITTED ELECTRONICALLY: The CP National Horse Show will use the Show Management System On-line Entry Platform to accept electronic entries and to manage the qualification process for all competitors. Show Management System (tm)’s $5 Entry Processing Fee is included in the application fee and enables exhibitors to submit an electronic entry, to receive e-mails regarding their qualification and wait list status, and to use credit cards to pay their entry and show fees and to order optional items. All competitors are encouraged to submit their show entries on-line at https://entries.showmanagementsystem.com. Entries received on a paper entry blank will be given guest access to the system to complete their qualification acceptance, pay any show and entry fees that become due when they are accepted into their section, and to order optional items.

All entries must be accompanied by a non-refundable $100 application fee. Do not enclose any entry or stall fees. Those fees will be invoiced with the acceptance letters to qualified entries.

Acceptance letters will be emailed in mid-September to the name and email address specified on the entry form. Payment in full as billed on the acceptance invoice must be postmarked by the specified date; entries not paid in full by the specified date will not be permitted to show.

 

ASPCA MACLAY CHAMPIONSHIP ENTRIES: All regional finalists must notify the horse show office of their intention to compete by fax or email within 48 hours of receiving notification of becoming a regional finalist. Entries for the ASPCA Maclay Championship close October 6. If you do not plan to compete, please notify the secretary in writing within that time frame. You may submit your entry by fax, email or electronically, along with credit card payment. If you will be paying by check, please fax your entry form to confirm your participation and then send the original, along with payment, by overnight delivery (mark no signature required). 

 

NATIONAL HORSE SHOW 3'3" EQUITATION CHAMPIONSHIP ENTRIES: Entries must be received by 5:00 PM September 29, 2017. All checks must be in US funds and made payable to The National Horse Show. No qualifying necessary to enter the 2017 Championship class. 

 

 

QUALIFYING INFORMATION 

HUNTERS: Qualifying will be based on the USEF National Horse of the Year points earned by horses from their best 15 shows starting on or after August 29, 2016, through shows starting on or before August 28, 2017. Point totals will be verified with USEF.

Approximately fifteen (15) Horses will be accepted in each of the hunter sections.

JUNIOR and AMATEUR OWNER JUMPERS: Junior Jumper entries in the Amateur Owner / Junior Jumper Section will be limited to 15 horses based on the following qualifying criteria: Nine (9) horses will qualify based on money won in High Junior Jumper classes held at USEF-recognized shows and at FEI sanctioned Junior or Young Rider classes starting on or after August 29, 2016, through shows starting on or before August 28, 2017. Three (3) entries will qualify (if not otherwise qualified) based on the 2017 Show Jumping Hall of Fame Series East Coast League standings and three (3) entries will qualify (if not otherwise qualified) based on the 2017 Show Jumping Hall of Fame Series West Coast League standings as of September 8, 2017.

Amateur Owner Jumper entries in the Amateur Owner / Junior Jumper Section will be limited to 15 horses based on the following qualifying criteria: Nine (9) horses will qualify based on money won in High Junior Jumper classes held at USEF-recognized shows and at FEI sanctioned Junior or Young Rider classes starting on or after August 29, 2016, through shows starting on or before August 27, 2018. Three (3) entries will qualify (if not otherwise qualified) based on the 2017 Show Jumping Hall of Fame Series East Coast League standings and three (3) entries will qualify (if not otherwise qualified) based on the 2017 Show Jumping Hall of Fame Series West Coast League standings as of September 8, 2017.

The Organizing Committee will reserve to themselves four (4) “wild card” invitations. Horses or riders competing in the International-Open Jumper Section are not eligible. No more than 2 horses per rider will be accepted in this section. You may enter as many horses as you wish.

 

UNDER 25 JUMPER CHAMPIONSHIP: USEF shall be responsible for determining applicants’ eligibility to compete in the Championship. The Championship will be open to riders from the age of 16 up to and including 25 years of age in the calendar year (for 2017, riders born in the years 1992 – 2001). Riders may also compete on a different horse(s) in either the International Open Jumper division or in the Amateur Owner/Junior Jumper division if otherwise qualified. Riders competing in the Open Jumper division may not compete in the Amateur Owner/Junior Jumper division.

Qualifying: 30 US riders will be accepted. One horse per rider. The rider qualifies, not the horse/rider combination. Riders will be accepted based upon the following system:

  • 24 US riders from the USEF U25 Rider Ranking List dated September 9, 2017
  • 6 Wildcards to be agreed upon by the OC and the USEF
  • If there are openings remaining, riders will be invited according to their U25 Rider Ranking List
  •  

    OPEN and INTERNATIONAL JUMPERS: Approximately 40 riders will qualify using the following criterion:  

    Riders must submit an official Open Jumper Rider Entry Form to the National Horse Show office and pay $100 application fee. If a rider is accepted, the $100 application fee becomes part of the "per horse" fee. Deadline for submission of entries is September 6, 2017. Riders must also be nominated by their National Federation on the FEI entry system, along with the horses on which they wish to compete.

    Thirty (30) US and Canadian riders will qualify based on their ranking on the FEI Longines World Ranking #200. Should any of the 30 highest ranked riders on the list not enter the show the next highest ranked riders will qualify until all spots are filled. If a rider has no points on the Longines World Ranking list, qualifying points from the USEF Computer List will be considered once all the riders appearing on the Longines World Ranking List have been considered.

    Up to ten (10) foreign (not Canadian) riders will be invited based on the FEI Longines World Ranking #200. If fewer than ten (10) foreign riders enter the competition, those unfilled slots will revert to US and Canadian riders. The Organizing Committee will reserve to themselves up to four (4) “wild card” invitations.

    Each qualified rider who enters the competition may bring two (2) horses. Each horse entered will pay $1,000 (includes all fees except USEF, USHJA & High Performance Fees). Additional class fees must be paid as indicated in the class descriptions.

     

    RIDER RESTRICTIONS

    Junior Hunter 3’6” Exhibitors: No rider may ride more than three (3) horses in the Junior Hunter 3’6” Division, and not more than two horses per section.

    Junior Hunter 3’3” Exhibitors: No rider may ride more than two (2) horses in the Junior Hunter 3’3” Division. Riders may not cross enter into any class at 3’6” or higher in the hunter division or higher than 1.1m in the jumper division at the same competition.

    Amateur Owner Hunter Exhibitors: No rider may ride more than two (2) horses in the Amateur Owner Hunter 3'6" Division. No rider may ride more than two (2) horses in the Amateur Owner Hunter 3'3" Division. Riders may cross enter between the Amateur Owner 3’3” and the Amateur Owner 3’6” sections. Horses may not cross enter between the sections.

    Amateur Owner/ Junior Jumper Exhibitors: No rider may ride more than two (2) horses in the Amateur Owner/Jr Jumper Division. Horses and/or riders competing in the International Open Jumper section are not eligible to compete in the Junior or Amateur Owner Jumper Division.

    Under 25 Jumper Championship Exhibitors: One horse per rider. Riders may compete on a different horse (s) in either the Open Jumper Division or in the Amateur Owner/Jr Jumper Division. No rider may compete in all three divisions (Amateur Owner/Jr Jumper, Under 25 Championship and the Open Jumper Division).
