Acceptance letters were emailed on September 17, 2019. If your entry appears on one of the qualifying lists and you have not received an acceptance email, please contact Cindy Bozan at email@example.com.
Acceptance replies are due by October 9, 2019.
INTERNATIONAL OPEN JUMPER RIDERS
RIDER NOMINATIONS FOR THE INTERNATIONAL OPEN JUMPERS CLOSE OCTOBER 18, 2019.
The posted lists of nominated riders in the 2019 National Horse Show will be updated daily. Entries for this section close on October 18th. From these lists 30 USA and Canadian riders, 10 foreign riders, and 4 wildcard riders will be accepted to participate.

EQUITATION ENTRIES, EXCEPT FOR MACLAY CHAMPIONSHIP ENTRIES, CLOSE SEPTEMBER 27, 2019.
ENTRIES SUBMITTED BY US MAIL OR PARCEL CARRIER (FedEx, UPS, etc.):
Equitation entries, except for Maclay Championship entries, must be postmarked before midnight September 27, 2019. All checks must be in US funds and made payable to The National Horse Show. See below for Maclay Championship entry guidelines.
ENTRIES SUBMITTED ELECTRONICALLY: The National Horse Show will use the Show Management System On-line Entry Platform to accept electronic entries and to manage the qualification process for all competitors. Show Management System (tm)’s $5 Entry Processing Fee is included in the application fee and enables exhibitors to submit an electronic entry, to receive e-mails regarding their qualification and wait list status, and to use credit cards to pay their entry and show fees and to order optional items. All competitors are encouraged to submit their show entries on-line at https://entries.showmanagementsystem.com. Entries received on a paper entry blank will be given guest access to the system to complete their qualification acceptance, pay any show and entry fees that become due when they are accepted into their section, and to order optional items.
- Entries for classes 1 – 15 will be accepted on a first come first serve basis.
- Entries for class 16 Taylor Harris Insurance Services National Horse Show Adult Equitation Championship will be accepted based upon the criteria outlined in the class specifications found on www.nhs.org.
- Entries for class 17 National Horse Show KHJA Equitation Championship will receive invitations.
- Entries for class 18 Hamel Foundation National Horse Show 3'3" Equitation Championship will be accepted based upon the criteria outlined in the class specifications found on nhs.org.
- Entries for class 20 ASPCA Maclay Championship will be accepted based upon the criteria outlined in the class specifications found on www.nhs.org.
HORSES AND RIDERS WHO COMPETE IN CLASSES 1 -18 HELD OCTOBER 25-27, 2019 ARE INELIGIBLE TO COMPETE IN THE 2019 MACLAY NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP.
MACLAY CHAMPIONSHIP ENTRIES
All regional finalists must notify Cindy Bozan in the show office, of their intention to compete by fax or email within 48 hours of receiving notification of becoming a regional finalist.
If a rider does not plan to compete, please notify the show office in writing within that 48 hour time frame.
ENTRIES FOR THE ASPCA MACLAY CHAMPIONSHIP CLOSE OCTOBER 4, 2019.
Entries may be submitted by fax, email or electronically, along with credit card payment.
If paying by check, please fax the entry form to confirm participation and then send the original, along with payment, by overnight delivery (MARK NO SIGNATURE REQUIRED).
The state of Kentucky requires that all horses entering the state provide a negative Coggins test within one year of entry as well as a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (Health Certificate) signed by a licensed veterinarian within 30 days of entry. Horses originating within the state of Kentucky are required to have a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection within 150 days. All horses entering the grounds must be accompanied by documentation of Equine Influenza Virus and Equine Herpes Virus (Rhinopneumonitis) vaccinations within six months prior to entering the grounds and the date of vaccination must be noted on the Certificate of Veterinary Inspection or documented by means noted in USEF GR845.
To facilitate the inspection process by Kentucky Department of Agriculture personnel upon arrival this paperwork must accompany the horses upon arrival and be available throughout their stay.
It is recommended that all horses arrive between the hours of 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM. If it is absolutely necessary to arrive at any other time you must call the Stable Office at least 24 hours before arrival to make those arrangements.
Junior Hunter 3’6” Exhibitors: No rider may ride more than three (3) horses in the Junior Hunter 3’6” Division, and not more than two horses per section. Junior Hunter 3’3” Exhibitors: No rider may ride more than two (2) horses in the Junior Hunter 3’3” Division. Riders may not cross enter into any class at 3’6” or higher in the hunter division or higher than 1.1m in the jumper division at the same competition.
Amateur Owner Hunter Exhibitors: No rider may ride more than two (2) horses in the Amateur Owner Hunter 3'6" Division. No rider may ride more than two (2) horses in the Amateur Owner Hunter 3'3" Division. Riders may cross enter between the Amateur Owner 3’3” and the Amateur Owner 3’6” sections. Horses may not cross enter between the sections.
Amateur Owner and Junior Jumper Exhibitors: No rider may ride more than two (2) horses in the Amateur Owner or Jr Jumper Division. Horses competing in the International Open Jumper section are not eligible to compete in the Junior or Amateur Owner Jumper Division.
EARLY AND LATE STABLING

Stalls will be available at 10:00 Am Thursday, October 24 and must be vacated by Monday, October 28 by 8:00 AM. Early stabling (before 10:00 AM on Thursday, October 24) or late stabling (after 8:00 AM Monday, October 28) must be arranged for through the Stable Office and will be billed at $100 per stall per day.
All horses entered in the Hamel Foundation National Horse Show 3’3" Equitation Championship and the Taylor Harris Insurance Services National Horse Show Adult Equitation Championship must have a stall and be stabled on the grounds 24 hours prior to the start of the class and remain on the grounds until through competing. Any horse that potentially may be used in the Hamel Foundation National Horse Show 3'3" Equitation Championship and the Taylor Harris Insurance Services National Horse Show Adult Equitation Championship must be entered and will be assigned a number which must be displayed at all times whenever outside of their stall, mounted or unmounted. (exception: horses entered only in classes 1-15 and the National Horse Show KHJA Equitation Championship are not required to be stabled on the grounds).
ACCEPTED HUNTER and OWNER JUMPER ENTRIES
Stalls will be available at 8 am on Monday, October 28, 2019 and must be vacated by 8 am on Monday, November 4, 2019. If you need to arrive before 8 am on Monday, October 28 or depart after 8 am on Monday, November 4 you must notify the stabling office at 859-414-6266 beginning October 18, 2019. Early and late stabling will be charged at $100 per day and invoiced at the show.
BILLING NOTE: As all stabling is paid in advance, there will be no option to split stalls in the show office.
PLEASE NOTE THAT ONLY THOSE HORSES SHOWING IN THE REGULAR NATIONAL HORSE SHOW CLASSES WILL BE STABLED IN THE BARNS (22 – 24) IN THE ALLTECH ARENA COMPLEX. ALL MACLAY HORSES AND ANY NON-SHOWING HORSES WILL BE STABLED IN BARNS 12 – 21. TACK STALLS ARE AVAILABLE, BUT LIMITED IN BARNS 22 – 24. IF YOU WISH TO REQUEST EXTRA STALLS IN BARNS 22 – 24 YOU MAY DO SO, BUT DO NOT PAY FOR THEM WITH YOUR ACCEPTANCE PAYMENT. UNLIMITED EXTRA STALLS ARE AVAILABLE IN BARNS 12 – 21 AND SHOULD BE PAID FOR WITH MACLAY ENTRIES. Credentials (3 per horse) will be distributed through the show office upon arrival.
Proper attire is required for all persons entering the competition ring (i.e. appropriate riding clothes or attire which an exhibitor would wear to compete in a model class). No person may jog a horse or walk any course unless properly attired. Jeans and tennis shoes are not considered proper attire while in the competition ring. Black tie or business attire preferred for Thursday & Saturday evenings.
DOGS: Dogs are permitted on the grounds of the Kentucky Horse Park but must be leashed. NO DOGS ARE ALLOWED AT ANY TIME IN THE ALLTECH ARENA OR SCHOOLING AREA WHETHER LEASHED OR UNLEASHED.
