HUNTER, JUNIOR JUMPER AND AMATEUR OWNER JUMPER ENTRIES CLOSED FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 11, 2020.

Hunter and Junior and Amateur Owner Jumper acceptance letters were emailed on September 20, 2020.  If your entry appears on one of the qualifying lists and you have not received an acceptance email, please contact Cindy Bozan at cindy@nhs.org.

Acceptance replies are due by October  7, 2020.

 

FEI INTERNATIONAL JUMPER ENTRIES

UPDATED INVITATION RULES FOR THE NATIONAL HORSE SHOW

Due to the 2020 removal of the World Cup status for the National Horse Show CSI 4*, the FEI CSI Invitation System will now be in effect. 

Athletes wanting to compete must log in to your FEI Dashboard to declare your wish-list for the National Horse Show. 

Regardless of rank, all athletes must put the NHS on the wish-list to be considered. 

The definite entry deadline has been extended to October 9, 2020.

Ranking list #237 will be utilized for invitations

Opening of Stables: 8:00am - Tuesday, October 27, 2020

Horse Inspection: 7:00am - Thursday, October 29, 2020

 

EQUITATION ENTRIES

OCTOBER 23-NOVEMBER 1, 2020

EQUITATION ENTRIES CLOSED FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 11, 2020. Equitation post entries will only be accepted if time and space in the schedule allow.

All equitation entries submitted will have received a confirmation email. This completes the entry process. 

 

STABLING

EQUITATION STABLING OCTOBER 23-25, 2020 for horses entered in classes 1-14

Permanent stalls of wood construction with asphalt flooring are 10 x 12 with doors, at a cost of $275. Stalls will be available at 10:00 AM Wednesday, October 21 and must be vacated by Monday, October 26 by 8:00 AM. Early stabling (before 10:00 AM on Wednesday, October 21) or late stabling (after 8:00 AM Monday, October 26) must be arranged for through the Stable Office and will be billed at $100 per stall per day.

The horse show office cannot accommodate splitting stalls.

All horses entered in the Hamel Foundation National Horse Show 3’3" Equitation Championship and the Taylor Harris Insurance Services National Horse Show Adult Equitation Championship must have a stall and be stabled on the grounds 24 hours prior to the start of the class and remain on the grounds until through competing. Any horse that potentially may be used in the Hamel Foundation National Horse Show 3'3" Equitation Championship and the Taylor Harris Insurance Services National Horse Show Adult Equitation Championship must be entered and will be assigned a number which must be displayed at all times whenever outside of their stall, mounted or unmounted. (exception: horses entered only in classes 1-12 are not required to be stabled on the grounds).

NOTE: The guidelines of Competition and Schooling Protocols listed on page 26 in the prize list will be enforced for both the Hamel Foundation National Horse Show 3'3" Championship and the Taylor Harris Insurance Services National Horse Show Adult Equitation Championship.

NON-STABLING FEE OCTOBER 23-25, 2020 for horses entered in classes 1-12: A $50 non-stabling fee will be charged to horses which are not being billed for a stall on the grounds.

 

HUNTERS, JUMPERS, MACLAY STABLING OCTOBER 27-NOVEMBER 1, 2020

Permanent stalls of wood construction with asphalt flooring are 10 x 12 with doors, at a cost of $375. Tack stalls will be limited. Stalls will be available at 8:00 AM Monday, October 26 and must be vacated by 8:00 AM Monday, November 2. If you plan to arrive before 8:00 AM Monday, October 26, or depart later than 8:00 AM Monday, November 2, it must be arranged through the Stable Office and will be billed at $100 per stall per day.

The horse show office cannot accommodate splitting stalls.

NOTE: The guidelines of Competition and Schooling Protocols listed on page 26 in the prize list will be enforced for the ASPCA Maclay Championship.

Early stabling (before 8:00 AM Monday, October 26) or late stabling (after 8:00 AM Monday, November 2) must be arranged for through the Stable Office and will be billed at $100 per stall per day. ANY STALLS THAT HAVE NOT BEEN VACATED BY 8:00 AM ON MONDAY, NOVEMBER 2 WILL AUTOMATICALLY BE ASSESSED A $100 PER DAY CHARGE BY THE KENTUCKY HORSE PARK.

 

HEALTH REQUIREMENTS 

The state of Kentucky requires that all horses entering the state provide a negative Coggins test within one year of entry as well as a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (Health Certificate) signed by a licensed veterinarian within 30 days of entry. Horses originating within the state of Kentucky are required to have a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection within 150 days. All horses entering the grounds must be accompanied by documentation of Equine Influenza Virus and Equine Herpes Virus (Rhinopneumonitis) vaccinations within six months prior to entering the grounds and the date of vaccination must be noted on the Certificate of Veterinary Inspection or documented by means noted in USEF GR845.

To facilitate the inspection process by Kentucky Department of Agriculture personnel upon arrival this paperwork must accompany the horses upon arrival and be available throughout their stay.

It is recommended that all horses arrive between the hours of 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM. If it is absolutely necessary to arrive at any other time you must call the Stable Office at least 24 hours before arrival to make those arrangements.


RIDER RESTRICTIONS

RIDERS WHO COMPETE IN CLASSES 1 -14 HELD OCTOBER 23-25, 2020 ARE INELIGIBLE TO COMPETE IN THE 2020 MACLAY NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP.

Junior Hunter 3’6” Exhibitors: No rider may ride more than three (3) horses in the Junior Hunter 3’6” Division, and not more than two horses per section. Junior Hunter 3’3” Exhibitors: No rider may ride more than two (2) horses in the Junior Hunter 3’3” Division. Riders may not cross enter into any class at 3’6” or higher in the hunter division or higher than 1.1m in the jumper division at the same competition.

Amateur Owner Hunter Exhibitors: No rider may ride more than two (2) horses in the Amateur Owner Hunter 3'6" Division. No rider may ride more than two (2) horses in the Amateur Owner Hunter 3'3" Division. Riders may cross enter between the Amateur Owner 3’3” and the Amateur Owner 3’6” sections. Horses may not cross enter between the sections.

Amateur Owner and Junior Jumper Exhibitors: No rider may ride more than two (2) horses in the Amateur Owner or Jr Jumper Division. Horses competing in the International Open Jumper section are not eligible to compete in the Junior or Amateur Owner Jumper Division.

DRESS CODE

Proper attire is required for all persons entering the competition ring (i.e. appropriate riding clothes or attire which an exhibitor would wear to compete in a model class). No person may jog a horse or walk any course unless properly attired. Jeans and tennis shoes are not considered proper attire while in the competition ring. Black tie or business attire preferred for Thursday & Saturday evenings.

DOGS

DOGS: Dogs are permitted on the grounds of the Kentucky Horse Park but must be leashed. NO DOGS ARE ALLOWED AT ANY TIME IN THE ALLTECH ARENA OR SCHOOLING AREA WHETHER LEASHED OR UNLEASHED.
